Closing a Chapter: Farewell to HubPages| Article by Katerina Kostaki

Just yesterday, I brought down the curtain on my two HubPages profiles, which I decided to delete myself.

I had already spoken about the end of the well-known online platform HubPages in a previous post on Facebook, and now the time has come to withdraw my double presence from that space.

As much as it once felt like an important online home for my articles and reflections, the truth is that, for some time now, I had moved my writings to my own blogs, especially to this very blog.

I never depended financially on that platform, as with so many others, nor did I ever feel that it defined me as a creator.

It was simply a station along my journey, not the destination.

I do not mourn this loss at all.

On the contrary, I feel a sense of relief, as if a tie that had long since decayed has finally been released.

My relationship with HubPages had run its course well before my profiles were closed.

This departure does not negate a single moment of inspiration or any piece of writing that was born there.

On the contrary, it honors everything I learned and allows me to move forward more freely, without burdens, into new avenues of expression and creation.

I often reflect on my long-standing dream to have my own website.

My first attempt collapsed because I could not afford hosting and a domain.

The second failed because the website wasn’t interactive, it didn’t offer me space to truly connect with my readers.

But my third attempt succeeded and my website now grows and evolves with me every day.

All these “dead ends” brought me here, where my vision now has a space of its own to blossom, without limits.

Yet the path was not easy.

I felt sadness each time something old had to fade away.

I felt failure when I could not sustain my first site, and a sense of lack when I couldn’t provide myself with what I needed.

Doubt visited me many times: Was all this effort worth it?

Was the dream too big for me?

The only feeling I never experienced was envy.

Because my goal was always my own, unique and deeply personal.

No matter what happened, the goal remained the goal, and that is what kept me on the path, until my own website, my own creative Universe, finally blossomed.

Every time we leave behind what no longer expresses us, we make space for what is new and authentic.

I feel this as a form of self-care, an act of respect for myself and my creative journey.

I welcome this new beginning where Light, Inspiration, and Truth can bloom even more freely.

Every ending is a new beginning.
